Interactive improv moments for conferences and big events
facilitated by Bogdan Grigore · founder & lead facilitator Improvizatie.ro
A room of 100+ people can play together. We have proved it many times. Openers that wake the room, energisers between presentations and interactive moments that participants talk about at home. Facilitated by Bogdan Grigore, since 2008.

Who it is for
- Internal conference organisers who want an opener that wakes the room, not just a welcome speech.
- HR and internal communications teams preparing town halls or all-hands.
- Company events with a packed agenda, where the room's energy drops visibly after 40 minutes.
- Keynote speakers who want an interactive moment before or after their talk, to connect with the room.
- Hybrid events, with participants both in person and online.
- Companies that want people to talk about the event at home, not just tick it off.

What actually happens
- YES or NO Story (5 minutes): works with an audience of any size, with no stage and no volunteers. The facilitator asks questions that the whole room answers in chorus with YES or NO, building together the story of an employee (or not). It trains openness to change.
- Sound and Movement Wave (5 minutes): works from your seat, with no movement around the room. A gesture and a sound start at one end of the room and pass, person by person, until they come back. It trains collective attention and resets energy between presentations.
- Chain Applause (3 minutes): the shortest way to wake a tired room. One clap starts from one person and "circulates" through the whole room, with increasing speed and intensity, with no complicated instructions.
What a session looks like
| Duration | Number of participants | Space required | Online or in person | What you get afterwards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5-15 minutes per interactive moment, integrated into the event agenda | from 50 to 100+ people: the moments are designed to scale | the existing conference room, with no special setup | both, including hybrid format | agenda coordinated with the organisers + photos, if the event includes them |
For large events, the price is a custom quote, depending on duration and number of participants. Details on the pricing page.
What it is NOT
- It is not comedy theatre or an entertainment show: the moments have a purpose to energise or connect, not just to amuse.
- It does not involve bringing volunteers on stage. No one is put on the spot in front of the room.
- It does not replace the event agenda or speakers, it fits around them, not instead of them.
- It needs no special space or extra equipment. It works with the room and microphones you already have.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with 200 or more people in the room?
Yes. The moments are designed to scale: they are played from your seat, in pairs or simultaneously with the whole room, with no need for volunteers on stage or an individual microphone.
How long does an energiser last at a conference?
Between 5 and 15 minutes, integrated into the event agenda, enough to reset the room's energy without eating into the main programme time.
Do you need a stage and a microphone?
Not necessarily. Many moments work directly from the room, with the facilitator using a handheld microphone. No one is brought to the front or put on stage.
Does it also work for hybrid events, with online participants?
Yes, with adaptations: moments based on collective response (YES/NO, simple movement) work well for the audience at home too, in parallel with the physical room.
Who delivers the main speech or presentation of the event?
The improv moments complement the agenda, they do not replace it: they fit into the opening, between presentations or as an energiser, around your talks and speakers.
